Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico Ricky received his bachelors of music degree in classical bass at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. While in Puerto Rico he had the opportunity to perform with some of the giants in Latin Jazz today including Giovanni Hidalgo, Jerry Gonzalez, Chuchito Valdez, Erick Figueroa, Mandy Visoso and Orchestra, Endel Dueno, Paoli Mejias, Ricardo Pons, Causa Comun, Danilo Perez, Branford Marsalis and David Sanchez.
Now living in New York City, Ricky plays with distinguished musicians including the David Sanchez Quartet, Branford Marsalis, Russell Malone, Herlin Riley, the Chico O'Farrill Afro-Cuban Big Band, Luis Bonilla and Trombonilla, Ignacio Berroa Quartet, the Rodriguez Brothers group, John Riley, Dick Oatts, Cristos Rafalides and Manhattan Vibes, Miguel Zenon Quartet, Chris Washburn and Syoto's Band, Adam Rogers, Lionel Louke, Dave Samuel, Papo Vazquez, Myron Walden, Joe Magnarelli, Aaron Goldberg, Joe Locke Quartet, Magos Herrera.
