With a repertoire consisting of everything from standards to symphonies and Gypsy Jazz to classic rock anthems, Frank Vignola is undoubtedly one of the Jazz scene’s most extraordinary and versatile guitarists. Critics agree. “Two parts Sinatra to one part Billy Joel, meshed seamlessly…” Youthful crooner and pianist, Tony DeSare, performs with infectious joy, wry playfulness, and robust musicality. Swinging and sensual, Desare’s performances span a wide-range of romantic, funny and soulful classics and thoughtfully crafted original compositions.
Delivering that rollicking, heartfelt brand of southern blues that only erupts from Louisiana, Marcia Ball is a staple of the classic New Orleans R&B sound. With an irresistible swampy style, this contemporary storyteller has headlined the biggest stages in jazz, a true veteran of the jazz and blues circuits. The USA Today called her "a sensational, saucy singer and superb pianist... where Texas stomp-rock and Louisiana blues-swamp meet."
“Pumping out Bollywood tunes and Sufi songs with a crackling beat and the muscle of horns blasting in unison,” Brooklyn based Red Baraat merges hard driving North Indian bhangra rhythms with elements of jazz, go-go, brass funk, and hip-hop. This whip-smart, road-tested band challenges itself, dipping in and out of improvisation, teaching the audience dance moves and visibly having a blast.
In a career spanning five decades, pianist Monty Alexander has built a reputation exploring and bridging the worlds of American jazz, popular song, and the music of his native Jamaica. In Monty’s latest project, Harlem Kingston Express, the group combines a jazz rhythm section with a Jamaican bass-and-drum groove, while Alexander sits at the piano bench, moving in between both worlds.
John Pizzarelli has established himself as one of the prime interpreters of the Great American Songbook, bringing to his work the cool jazz flavor of his brilliant guitar playing and singing. With his hip and sophisticated style, he makes music that sounds both classic and thoroughly modern. The Toronto Star calls him, “the genial genius of the Jazz guitar.”
ROBERTA GAMBARINI & THE ERIC GUNNISON TRIO | August 21st

Gambarini tells the Jazz story like no other, swimming gracefully back and forth between masterful diction and her irresistibly effortless style of scatting. Thrust into stardom in the mid-2000s, the Italian-born singer was the recipient of a Grammy nomination for Best Vocal Album in 2009 for her album So in Love.
