Memphis native Dee Dee Bridgewater is a vocal jazz giant who crosses musical genres and ignites it all with her unique flair and passion.  She’s a three-time Grammy winner, including for Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best Jazz Vocal Performance, and in 2017 was named an NEA Jazz Master – our nation’s most prestigious jazz award.  In a music career spanning more than four decades, Dee Dee was a member of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band; has performed with such jazz icons as Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, and Dizzy Gillespie; and in 1975 won a Tony Award for her Broadway role as Glinda in The Wiz.  In this Vail Square performance, Dee Dee and her nine-piece band honor her native city and roots, recapturing the magic and history of Memphis Blues, R&B, and Soul classics.
