Jon Cleary – Mardi Gras in July

How about a little Mardi Gras in July?  British-born, New Orleans-based pianist Jon Cleary and his band will bring jazz, funk, and R&B rhythms to to the Jazz Tent at Vail Square in a musical gumbo of celebration of the Crescent City sound.  Jon is a life-long student of the musical culture and life of New Orleans, inspired at an early age by listening to his uncle’s recordings of Professor Longhair and Alan Toussaint.  Winner of a Grammy for Best Regional Roots Music Album, Jon has performed with Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, B.B. King, and Eric Burdon, and is a mainstay at the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.  His work pays homage to Jelly Roll Morton, Dr. John, and other Big Easy musical masters.  So bring your Mardi Gras beads and laissez les bon temps rouler (let the good times roll)!
