5PM FREE Swing dance lesson

5:30PM Live performance and dancing

Join the Vail Jazz community to learn the basics of swing dance at this summer’s last free concert on the Solaris Plaza!

Dance professionals Kenny and Delilah from Swingin’ Denver will be leading FREE swing dance lessons! Swing is a  joyful, free-spirited, and infectious form of dance. It is a partnered social dance, but you don’t need to bring your own partner. We rotate during the class so that you have a chance to meet and dance with many community members, while learning the history of this fast-paced art form!

All ages are welcome! Free swing lessons begin at 5PM, and the dancing will continue throughout the show. Sign up here to confirm your spot.

Put your new (or refined!) dance skills to good use at the concert immediately following the lesson. Swing jazz trumpeter Peter Olstad is a California native who studied jazz performance and education at Berklee College of Music in Boston.  Now based in Colorado, Peter has assembled some of the finest musicians in the region to bring a robust and passionate swing show to Vail.

Musicians: Pete Olstad (trumpet), Bob Rebholtz (saxophone), Al Herrmann (trombone), Dave Hanson (keys), Mark Simon (bass), Mike Marlier (drums)
