Workshop Alumni Happenings August 5 – August 18, 2026

Cosmo Lieberman (saxophone, 2002) takes the stage at The Jazz Gallery in New York City on August 11. For more than three decades, the nonprofit listening room has provided a creative home for rising artists to debut new music, experiment, and develop their own distinctive voices. Cosmo will lead his quartet for two sets and welcome special guest Aislin Alancheril. Both performances will also be livestreamed, allowing jazz fans everywhere to experience the show.

Aaron Shaw (saxophone, 2013) performs at Townhouse Venice in Venice, California, on August 6.
Trumpeter Alphonso Horne (2004) takes the stage at Two WorldWide Plaza in New York City on August 6, followed by appearances at the Telluride Jazz Festival in Telluride, Colorado, on August 7–8. He then performs at Lackawanna Plaza in Montclair, New Jersey, on August 15 and as part of Summer Sundays in Scotts Corners in Pound Ridge, New York, on August 16.
Chief Adjuah (trumpet, 2001) takes the stage at the LA Jazz Festival in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, on August 7.
Grace Kelly (saxophone, 2008) performs at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, Massachusetts, on August 7, followed by two shows at the Spire Center for Performing Arts in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on August 8. She then takes the stage at the waterfront at Wequassett Resort in Harwich, Massachusetts, on August 12; the JPT Film and Event Center in Newport, Rhode Island, on August 13; and The Stationery Factory in Dalton, Massachusetts, on August 14. Kelly will present two performances at the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, Massachusetts, on August 15 before appearing at Dakota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 18.
Hailey Niswanger (saxophone, 2007) performs at Healing Force of the Universe in Pasadena, California, on August 7.
Marcus Gilmore (drums, 2002) appears at the BKLYN Jazz Festival at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, on August 8.
Corey Fonville (drums, 2009) performs with Fonville x Fribush at South Park in Los Angeles as part of the LA Jazz Festival on August 9.
Lakecia Benjamin (saxophone, 1999) performs at Plaza de César Chávez as part of San Jose Jazz in San Jose, California, on August 9.
Saxophonist Braxton Cook (2009) begins his run at Gibson Music Hall in Appleton, Wisconsin, on August 10. He then performs at Stevens Point Country Club in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, on August 11; Dakota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 12; Jazz on the Green at Turner Park in Midtown Crossing in Omaha, Nebraska, on August 13; SPACE in Evanston, Illinois, on August 14; and Blue LLama Jazz Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on August 16.
Anthony Hervey (trumpet, 2014) performs at The Pocket Jazz Club in New York City on August 11, 13, and 14.
Robert Glasper (piano, 1997) performs at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre in Detroit, Michigan, on August 12, followed by an appearance at the Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 13.
Sullivan Fortner (piano, 2002) performs at The JAI inside The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in La Jolla, California, on August 13. He then takes the stage with Cécile McLorin Salvant at The Amph at Little Island in New York City on August 15 and 16 before appearing at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, Massachusetts, on August 18.
Chad Lefkowitz-Brown (saxophone, 2007) will be featured in two performances at Jazz Forum in Tarrytown, New York, on August 14 and 15.
Keyon Harrold (trumpet, 1997) takes the stage at Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront in Omaha, Nebraska, on August 15.
