Workshop Alumni Happenings March 19 – March 31, 2026

Saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin (1997) brings her signature intensity and spirit to Dazzle Denver for two special nights on March 25 and 26.
These back-to-back double features offer a chance to catch her in an intimate setting, up close and fully immersed in the music. Colorado audiences won’t want to miss this opportunity to witness one of the art form’s most compelling artists at the height of her powers. Tickets are available here.
Performances
Chad Lefkowitz-Brown (saxophone 2007) will be taking the stage across the Lone Star State during this two-week period. On March 19, Lefkowitz-Brown and his trio will be performing at Jazz, TX in San Antonio, and then at the Waco Hippodrome Theatre on March 21. On March 22, the quartet has a double feature at Monks Jazz in Austin before heading to Concordia College for a residency from March 28 through the 29.
Saxophonist Braxton Cook (2009) will be performing at ZeyZey Miami on March 19, before heading to Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers, FL, on March 20. On March 21, Cook will be at The Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando, FL.
Continuing his nationwide tour, The Great American Crooners, trumpeter Benny Benack (2008) performs at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts in Fairfield, CT, on March 19 before heading to Stony Brook, NY, for a performance at the Staller Center for the Arts on March 20. On March 21, the group will be in Lancaster, PA, for a show at The Ware Center, and on March 22, in Harrison, NY, for a show at The New York Performing Arts Center. The Crooners will head to Florida to finish up this two-week stint, starting with a performance at the Tennessee Williams Theatre in Key West on March 26. On March 27, Benack will take the stage at Big Arts Sanibel in Sanibel, followed by the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center in Lady Lake on March 28, and the Ritz Theatre and Museum in Jacksonville on March 29.
Keyon Harrold (trumpet 1997) will be performing at the SF JAZZ Center with Gil Evans on March 20 and 22 in San Francisco and then at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN, on March 29.
Pianist Sullivan Fortner (2002) will be in Lenox, MA, on March 20 for a performance at the Linde Center for Music and Learning before heading to Indianapolis, IN, for a show at The Cabaret on March 21. On March 25, Fortner wil be in Evanston, IL, for a show at Space before heading to the Gallagher Student Center in Cincinnati, OH, for a show on March 25. From March 27 through March 29, Fortner will perform at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN, before ending the period in Louisville, KY, at the Comstock Concert Hall on March 31.
Terrace Martin (saxophone 1997) is performing at The Mannello Museum of American Art in Orlando, FL, on March 21.
Trumpeter Chief Adjuah (2001) will perform in the Orlando Jazz Collective Festival in Orlando, FL, on March 21 and 22.
Hailey Niswanger (saxophone 2007) will be at The 1905 in Portland, OR, on March 25.
Gerald Clayton (piano 2002) will take over the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall in NYC for a performance with Louis Langree on March 26. On March 27, Clayton will be in Cambridge, MA, for a performance at Regattabar before heading to Jackson Terminal in Knoxville, TN, on March 28. On March 31, he will take the stage at Village Vanguard in NYC.
Pianist James Francies (2012) has a three-night residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC from March 27 through 29.
