Workshop Alumni Happenings June 24 – July 8, 2026

Vail Jazz Workshop alumni will be well represented at the renowned Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY, this summer. Known for hosting world-class artists across a variety of genres, the venue has long been one of the nation’s premier destinations for live performance.

 

On June 27, Keyon Harrold (trumpet 1997), Morgan Guerin (saxophone 2014), and Sullivan Fortner (piano 2002) will all take the stage at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The following day, June 28, Lakecia Benjamin (saxophone 1999) will perform, continuing the strong Vail Jazz Workshop alumni presence at the celebrated venue.

 

Performances

 

Corey Fonville (drums 2006) takes the stage at Natalie’s Grandview in Columbus, OH, on June 24.

 

Sullivan Fortner (piano 2002) performs at Eastman Theatre in Rochester, NY, on June 24 alongside Cecile McLorin Salvant for the Rochester Jazz Festival. 

 

Benny Benack III (trumpet 2008) and his quartet play at Jazzcultural in NYC on June 25.

 

Isaiah J. Thompson (piano 2014) will be featured at the Rochester International Jazz Festival in Rochester, NY, on June 25–26.

 

Morgan Guerin (saxophone 2014) and fellow alumnus Marcus Gilmore (drums 2002) will take the stage at Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC on June 29–30.

 

Aaron Shaw (saxophone 2013) takes the stage at Townhouse Venice in Venice, CA, on July 2.

 

Hailey Niswanger (saxophone 2007) plays at OHMA in Portland, OR, on July 2.

 

Scott Coulter (piano 1996) performs at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in San Diego, CA, on July 3.

 

Grace Kelly (saxophone 2008) will be performing aboard the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection sailing from Fort Lauderdale, FL, July 4–8.
